Baby and toddler swimming improves your child's balance, coordination and motor skills, while the water stimulates the senses. The lessons are child-centered and the exercises are based on play and song. Our instructors will guide you so that both you and your child feel safe and comfortable in the water.

The classes are divided according to the age of the children at the start and the classes last 30 minutes at a time. We offer four different classes that follow the child's development and age.

Team division

This class is for babies who have not previously taken baby swimming lessons. You will be taught the basics and during the lessons you will take your first dives together.

This class is for babies who have previously taken baby swimming lessons. However, this is not a requirement for enrolling in the class. This class continues to work on the different strokes and diving techniques, and the children's dives become both longer and deeper.

In this class we work with balance and dives, which will be done through fun play. It is important that you, as a parent, actively participate in the class so that your child can get the most out of the exercises.

In this class, we continue to work on what the children have learned in the previous classes. However, you don't need to have attended these classes to participate. Through play and song, we teach the children to become independent swimmers.

Practical
information

All about baby and kids swimming

Your tickets for the class consist of a wristband with nine clips, which you will receive in the Gigantium café on the day of the first class. It's therefore a good idea to arrive in good time the first time in case there is a queue in our café.

It is important that both child and parents wash thoroughly before putting on swimwear.
Babies must wear both swim diapers and tight-fitting swimwear in the pools.
We have free swim diapers for free use at the entrance to the changing rooms.
We also have changing tables, car seats and bathtubs available in both changing rooms.

You can heat milk and baby food in our microwaves, which can also be found in both changing rooms.

You are allowed to take pictures during the lessons, but please note that only your own child is included in the pictures.

Grandparents or similar are more than welcome to come and watch the lessons for free. All they have to do is go to the Gigantium café and then go through the changing rooms, where shoes and socks must be removed and feet must be washed before they can enter the swimming pool.

If you cancel the class, you can get a refund for your payment until the Thursday before the scheduled class start. After that, the money will not be refunded.

If you are unable to attend a class, you do not need to cancel. You can give your place to someone else in case of illness on the Facebook group 'Gigantium Babysvømning'. However, only participants in ongoing classes can make use of a free place.

The remaining points on your wristband that have not been used due to illness can be redeemed as single tickets for the swimming pool within six months.
